Everything seemed great but I got 1/2 size too big. I needed to exchange them for the appropriate size. VERY comfortable. I used to be of the old way of thinking of boots had to be at least partially pointed with a high again. But when I tried these on they were so much more comfortable that this above I think it's time for a change. likeALPS Mountaineering Full Back Camp Chair Price!

1. How many individuals will be sleeping in the tent?

You need to consider this since it doesn't make for good business to buy a covering that only sleeps 3, if your family has 5 members. I'm assuming you'd hate to state to one of the children, "I'm sorry, you will need to sleep in the vehicle because and we don't have room." Most family tents can sleep 3-7 people. However, you can buy larger ones that could sleep as much as 10 or maybe more people.

2. What type of weather could you expect?

You must think about the weather of the camping trip because that will impact the material you desire your tent being made of. Most camping shelters are made from polyester taffeta or rip-stop nylon. Both of which really should have a waterproof polyurethane coating to hold you dry. If you're going to be in very warm weather, you would like to ensure your shelter has lots of ventilation which requires nylon mesh panels (just like window screens in your house). If you're expecting rain, make sure you purchase a rain fly. The fly should cover most of your shelter and stay at least one inch across the roof so everything will continue to be dry.

3. What design of tent do you want?

The most common design of tents can be dome, which may have round arched ceilings, or cabin, which have angular roofs and steep vertical sides. Generally speaking, cabin tents are larger plus much more suitable for larger families, but also come at the larger price. They have steep sloping walls which facilitate more room between sleeping loved ones. Many also provide optional inside walls and that means you can create 'bedrooms'. They also are very effective if you choose to sleep on the cot since the walls tend to Camp Furniture be more vertical than that of dome tents. Cabin tents are also more difficult to create.

Dome tents are perfect for families that like to help keep it simple and easy 'rough it' a bit more. Normally, they're cheaper and offer ALPS Mountaineering the spacious aspect of camping. They can be setup in minutes and offer numerous pole configurations. This is important in the event you're going to become camping where strong winds can be a factor. Dome tents will be more popular with hikers and backpackers since they weigh much less than cabin tents.

4. How much do you want to spend?

Pricing on tents can differ dramatically. You can buy a 2 person dome as low at $49.00 and as much as $700.00. The determining factors come down to how many people it can sleep, manufacturer, and material. To be frank, you get what you buy. I personally won't spend any under $100.00, regardless of how many people can sleep within it. My primary reason is cheaper ones are created from cheaper materials. For example, the seams along zippers usually rip. Also, the waterproof coating generally doesn't repel rain as well as more expensive tents. When it comes to purchasing one, think of it as purchasing a house. You probably wouldn't scrimp when building your home so why would you want to cut corners on your own tent?

5. What are some reputable name brands and retailers?

There are hundreds and thousands of camping gear retailers on the web. Some of the most reputable manufacturers of tents are The North Face, Cabela's, Eddie Bauer, Kelty, Eureka, Sierra Designs, and REI. Eureka is among the most affordable while The North Face ranks very ALPS Mountaineering Full ALPS Mountaineering Back Camp Chair Price expensive. Cabela's, Eddie Bauer, and REI all provide a wide range of styles and price to match almost anyone's needs.

The Final Point

Your tent will be the most important camping equipment you acquire. You don't want to make the mistake of spending an excessive amount of (or inadequate) over a tent that will not meet your needs. Do who you are a favor and spend some time researching the different styles, materials and manufacturers and that means you and your family can enjoy the great outdoors.

Oh, I forgot to note. I personally own an Eddie Bauer four person dome tent. It works perfect for the variety of different outdoor activities that I enjoy.
